Cynthia L. "Cindy" Selden

August 8, 1955 - January 17, 2022

Cynthia L. "Cindy" Selden, age 66 of L'Anse, MI passed away Monday, January 17, 2022 at UP Health System, Marquette in Marquette, MI. She was born in Beech Grove, Indiana on August 8, 1955 the daughter of the late Henry and Rosa (Dunning) Kantola. Cindy graduated from L’Anse High School. She married Thomas “Tom” Selden in L’Anse in 1971. Cindy had worked at Bayside Nursing Home, L’Anse as an aide and in the laundry room, was a “Gal Friday” for the elderly and had clerked at the former Radio Shack, L’Anse. She was a member of the Covington VFW #8945 Ladies Auxiliary and Color Guard. Cindy enjoyed canning her jams and jellies, camping, and fishing trips with her husband. She loved being in the outdoors and went places most women wouldn’t go. Cindy is survived by her loving husband Tom of L’Anse, son Chad Selden of L’Anse, daughter Rose Mary Selden of Minneapolis, grandson Sean Selden of L’Anse, her sister Evon (Clarence) Haapala of North Carolina, aunts Ruth (Bud) Selden of L’Anse and Helen Kettula of Kentucky. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Cindy was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother John. There are no funeral services planned at this time.
