We knew her as a wonderful art teacher and were blessed to have her as a teacher for our children. I also was extremely blessed to have known her and to have worked with her! Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I was so sorry to learn of Karen’s death. Karen and I were age-mates and began our college careers at Buffalo State in 1957, taking classes together and sporadically dating. I transferred to University of Buffalo and Karen continued at Buffalo State. Our lives and careers went in separate ways and we eventually lost contact. We reconnected after Karen retired and was living in Upper Peninsula Michigan. We enjoyed a telephonic connection for years following her retirement. We enjoyed talking about our mutual friends and acquaintances and life on the reservation. Karen was an excellent teacher who was greatly appreciated by her students. She was also a very good mother. Her life was a credit to her family and her tribe. To all those who knew her, she was a great woman and a great friend. She will be missed by many.
