MARY D. SELDEN, 88, of L’Anse passed away Monday, July 12, 2010 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness. She was born in Streator, IL. on March 22, 1922 the daughter of the late Frank and Helen (English) Don Read Obituary
It was my privilege to know Mary since childhood and we remained friends throughout the long years. Even in illness, Mary could always find the strength to lift the phone and chat with her faraway cousin, who she called her brother. Goodbye my dear, until we meet again.
Mary was a very special lady. I visited her a few time at Green Hill and then in the hospital. She was always so upbeat and concerned about others. Cherish your memories. Ann

There are not enough words to express how sorry we are to lose Mary.I can't stress enough how sweet and loving little miss mary was. She always had a smile on her face, and if I didn't have one on mine she would put one there too. Jim and Mary rented from us for many many years and were the dearest most loving couple i have ever met. They will both be missed dearly. We are blessed to have had mary in our lives.
To all of the Seldens...too many to list. Your Mom was a wonderful person. Always a smile and a laugh. Jim and Mary were a kind and nurturing couple. I enjoyed being in their company over the years. Cindy and I know how hard it is when both parents are gone. Stay strong and care for each other.
Mary (aka Grandma Seldon) was such a wise and memorable lady. She will be missed by everyone who knew her -- and I was so fortunate to be one of those people and will never forget dancing with her at Brian and Amber's wedding. May her love and good memories comfort you in this time of sorrow.

We may not know you all in person but we know you thorough your parents. Mary (and Jim) holds a very special place in our heart and my wife Mary and I treasure all of the memories we shared with them. It is rare for folks of different generations to have a strong friendship as we had, but we treasured this oddity. Please accept our condolences. We take comfort in knowing she is with Jim and in peace. We loved your mother (and father) and share this time of sadness with each of you.
If ever your travels bring you through the Atlanta area we would welcome your call and your visit as our house and hearts are always open to the Selden family.
