Alice E Deziel's Obituary
Alice E. Deziel, 92, of Keweenaw Bay, MI died peacefully on Friday, March 31, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
The former Alice Cote was born in Milwaukee, WI on June 13, 1924, the daughter of the late Alma Chaput and Paul Dewey Cote. Her early childhood was spent in the care of her grandparents in Chassell, MI.
Alice spent her adolescent years at The Sisters of the Monastery of Our lady Charity in Green Bay, WI. Alice married Fabian J. Deziel on July 6, 1943 in Milwaukee, WI. Her final destination in 1966 was Keweenaw Bay. Alice was preceded in death by her husband Fabian Deziel on January 25, 1998 and her great granddaughter April Mae Sullivan on July 12, 2001.
Alice had been employed at the Defense Plant during WWII, the former Winkler Nursing Home and Janus Home Health Care.
Alice had been Co-Chairwoman of the Upper Peninsula of MI Women’s Extension Group.
Her hobbies included traveling. She had visited Hawaii, Australia, Fiji Islands and Florida. Alice spent many relaxing hour’s playing cards and feeding her beloved animals.
Surviving are two sons: Daniel Deziel (Jennell), Salisbury, NC, Charles Deziel (Janet), Baraga, two daughters: Charlene Sullivan (Walfred), L’Anse and Michelle Deziel, Keweenaw Bay, MI,
Six grandchildren: Billy Sullivan, Alston, Cindy Sullivan, L’Anse, Bonnie (Sullivan) Scarpa, Milton, FL, Jessica Deziel, Rochester, MN, Myranda Deziel, Baraga and Ryan Pesola of Elo, MI.
Great grandchildren; Daniel and Scott Sullivan, L’Anse, Cartiana Mackenzie, Stephen and Johnathon Scarpa, Milton, FL, Brynlee Deziel, Baraga, Quinten, Michelle Seinerth, NC, Stacy Butler, NC, Paityn Butler, NC, Tristen Butler, NC and Taylor Seinerth, NC.
Thanks to Chris Jacobson for the support and confidence she gave to our mother. We will always remember your kindness. Also, to our special friend, Ed Karinen who drove “Miss Daisy” around.
We are also thankful for her special nieces, Carol Mitchell. Carol was a rare person that you never find again. May you rest in peace, and we hope you are together.

A memorial funeral service for Alice was held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, May 6, 2017 at the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L'Anse with Deacon John Cadeau officiating. The family greeted friends at the funeral chapel on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Immediately following the memorial funeral service the family invited friends to join them for fellowship and a luncheon at the Keweenaw Bay Fire Hall.
