ANN J. MISEGAN's Obituary
ANN J. MISEGAN, 65, of Zeba, passed away Saturday morning, June 4, 2005 at her residence surrounded by her family. She had been ill for the past 3 years. Ann was born in Zeba, MI. August 3, 1939 to the late Henry and Susan (Asher) Miller. She graduated from L’Anse High School and went on to Northern University receiving her L.P.N. certificate. She was employed at Baraga County Memorial Hospital for several years, later attending school in Portland OR, becoming a dental assistant. Ann was most recently employed as a dental assistant with the KBIC dental clinic, retiring in 2003. Ann married ”Blue”Misegan in Zeba on October 7, 2000. She was a member of the Zeba Methodist Church, KBIC, Ojibwa Senior Citizens, and current KBIC Tribal Council member with a record of 15 years service. Ann enjoyed bingo, had been a member of the bowling team. She was proud of the fact she had traveled to all 50 states.
She is survived by her loving husband, “Blue”, daughters Carolyn Jossens of Marquette, and Mary Lou Jossens of L’Anse, stepchildren Dominic Durant Jr. and Clifford Durant, both of Zeba, Martha (Chris) Johnson of Florence, WI.Mary Kay Durant of Zeba, Duane (Jennifer) Misegan of L’Anse, Mark Misegan of Bunnel, FL., John (Sharon) Misegan of Marquette, and Lynn (Randy) Haataja of L’Anse, 24 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild; brother Ronald “Shine” Miller of Zeba, and sister Barbara Miller also of Zeba. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Ann was preceded in death by 1 daughter, 1 son, 2 sisters and 4 brothers.
Funeral services for Mrs. Misegan were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 7, 2005 at the Zeba Methodist Church with her pastor John Henry officiating. Interment will take place in the Pinery Cemetery, L’Anse. The family received friends on Monday, June 6, from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L’Anse, and 1 hour before the service at the church on Tuesday. A prayer service was held at the funeral chapel on Monday at 7 p.m. followed by a memorial tribute presented by the KBIC Tribal Council. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L’Anse.
