AURELIA E. DOUVILLE's Obituary
AURELIA E. DOUVILLE, 94, of L’Anse, MI. passed away Friday, March 25, 2005 at Bayside Village, L’Anse. She had been a resident there for several months. She was born in Pequaming, MI. on June 20, 1910 daughter of the late Alfred and Thora C. (Pettersen) Hansen. She attended school in Pequaming and graduated from L’Anse High School in 1929. Aurelia married Lawrence Douville at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, L’Anse in 1932. He preceded her in death. She was employed by Baraga County Memorial Hospital, L’Anse as an admissions clerk and retired in 1974. Aurelia had also clerked at the Gambles Hardware Store in L’Anse. She was a member of United Lutheran Church, L’Anse and the Rebecca Lodge. Aurelia was an avid square dancer and enjoyed bowling, playing cards and sewing. In the summer she enjoyed tending to her garden.
Mrs. Douville is survived by her loving children, Larry (Nancy) Douville of Battle Creek, MI. and Margaret “Dee Dee” (Howard) Chartier of L’Anse; grandchildren, Andrew Douville and Mark Chartier. She was preceded in death by here sister, Myrtle.
Funeral services for Mrs. Douville were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2005 from the United Lutheran Church, L’Anse, MI. with Pastor Scott Williams officiating. Spring interment will take place in the Evergreen Cemetery, L’Anse. The family greeted friends at the church on Tuesday, March 29, 2005 from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials for Mrs. Douville may be directed to Bayside Village or the United Lutheran Church Memorial Fund. Envelopes were available at the church. The Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L’Anse has been entrusted with arrangements.
