BERTHA T. BOROWSKI's Obituary
BERTHA T. BOROWSKI, 83, of L'Anse passed away Friday, February 16, 2007 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital, L'Anse. She was born in Perth Amboy, NJ on April 9, 1923 daughter of the late August and Bertha (Piechocinski) Kleban. She attended school in New Jersey. Bertha worked as a seamstress in the clothing industry. She married Joseph Borowski in 1945. Together they owned and operated Borowski's Bar in downtown L'Anse until 1987. Mr. Borowski preceded her in death on March 4, 1989. Bertha was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, L'Anse, and the L'Anse VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed cooking, playing cards, working crossword puzzles and loved to read novels.
Mrs. Borowski is survived by her loving son, Leonard Borowski of L'Anse, brother, Al Kleban of California, and sisters, Florence (Tom) Conlin of California and Mary Arboreen of Arizona. Nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by 6 brothers and sisters.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, February 19, 2007 from Sacred Heart Catholic Church, L'Anse with Father George Maki, celebrant. Spring interment will take place in the L'Anse Evergreen Cemetery. The family received friends on Sunday, February 18, 2007 from 6 until 7 p.m. at the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L'Anse and for 1 hour prior to the Mass at church on Monday. Father George Maki conducted a parish prayer service Sunday evening in the funeral chapel at 7 pm. The Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L'Anse has been entrusted with arrangements.
