BLANCHE E. PATRIKUS's Obituary
The Lord stopped in to see Blanche last Wednesday and said, “My child, I've come to take you home.” Blanche E. Patrikus, 87, passed away June 4, 2009 at Bayside Village with her family by her side. Blanche was born May 12, 1922, in Calumet, MI., the daughter of Joseph and Blanche (Zerbst) Campagnola. She lived her life in Pequaming, going to school there and graduated from L'Anse High School. She then moved to Milwaukee where she met and married Sylvester “Bud” Patrikus. They moved back to L'Anse and raised their children. Blanche was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a member of the former Altar Society. She enjoyed traveling with her husband who was active in the Knights of Columbus. Blanche loved her children very much and they meant the world to her. Her friend , Clover Pekuri held a special place in Blanche's life and they enjoyed a deep affection and joy to each other. She was fond of all the residents at Greenhill Manor who were there for her with love. You all know who you are. The family is so grateful and appreciative of UPCap and so many people in L'Anse who touched her life in some way including the staff at Bayside Village. Blanche just loved everybody and thought so much of her friends.
Mrs. Patrikus is survived by her loving children, Natalie (Jim) Patovisti of Marquette, Blanche (Mike) Koskinen of Baraga and Syl Patrikus of L'Anse. Grandchildren , Nedine, Dana, Carmen, Shane, Mike, Craig, Kim, Reg, and Abby, 12 great-grandchildren, nephew John Patrikus and several great nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her husband "Bud"in 2000, daughter Claudia, brother John, niece Judith and great-grandson Jarred.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Tuesday June 9, 2009 at 11 a.m. from Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Augustin George, celebrant. Her grandsons and great-grandsons honored her as casket escorts and burial will take place in the L'Anse Evergreen Cemetery. Friends called at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
