CHARLES R. LESTER's Obituary
CHARLES R. LESTER Charlie "cashed in his chips" on April 1, 2006---April Fools Day. True to the gambler song "he died in his sleep" at his home in L'Anse. His special lady, Lynne Palo was at his bedside. Charlie was born in West Allis on June 11, 1936, son of Ernest and Lydia Lester. He was 69.
Charlie was preceded in death by his loving wife Rose, daughter Melinda, sister Sandra and brother Gerald. He is survived by his daughter Debi Roozen of Illinois, and brother Ray of Wauwatosa.
Charlie served in the 101st Airborne at Fort Campbell, KY as well as in Cuba and Puerto Rico, from 1959 until 1961.
He leaves behind many dear friends, Mark Oliver, Jim Spring, Wendell Dompier, Bob Karvonen, Chili and many dealers, pit bosses and players at the Casino.
Arrangements are being handled by the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L'Anse. At Charlie's request there will be no services. Contributions may be made to the Baraga County Home Care and Hospice.
