Christopher L. Miller's Obituary
Christopher L. "Chris" Miller, age 69 the L'Anse, MI passed away Thursday, July 9, 2026 at UP Health, System, Marquette with his loving family by his side. He was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa on May 28, 1957 the son of the late Lawrence E. Miller and Glenna M. McCoy. Chris graduated from high school in Portland, OR, and attended Portland Community College where he received his associates degree in criminal justice. Chris moved to the area and was employed at Baraga Maximum Prison until his retirement in 2010.
Chris married the former Margaret “Maggie’ Glover in L’Anse on June 30, 2000. He was a member of the L’Anse Village Council, and the L’Anse Shriners and Masons.
Chris enjoyed copper hunting, fishing, collecting coins, making jewelry and watching television.
Chris is survived by his loving wife Maggie Anderson of L’Anse, sons Christopher Anderson, Jr of Oregon, and Eric Anderson of Washington, and daughters Sheila Shoemaker of Oregon, and Crissy Glover of Virginia, grandchildren Christina Olson, and Michael Nies, Jr, 2 great grandchildren, 2 step brothers and 3 step sisters. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Steven Anderson.
No funeral services are scheduled.
The Reid Funeral Service and Chapel L’Anse has been entrusted with the arrangements.
