John Meyers
Clarence 'Mittu' Sibilsky.
Where to start....
Mittu shared a winning attitude he inherited from the great Sibilsky athletes. His dad being one of the family's 9 brother Sibilsky Hurontown Baseball Team. (Imagine that, nine boys one family one entire team and good!)
Winning was important. Mittu did not any know there any thing less than 100%. I can remember watching the older boys playing outdoor basketball where everyone would call there own fouls. You can imagine how that turned out and of course no one ever fouled out. Dirt ground with various ups and downs, a wooden backboard and a hoop with no net. (Who had money to buy a net.) They learned to pass the ball...... pretty tough to dribble the worn out leather ball in grass, gravel, and sand. Mittu was the best rebounder as Dave Mc Adam can attest.
On Saturdays, Mittu was always packing 4-6 kids in his car to go out to Sherman Gym and play pick up basketball games.
Never play to lose, only play to win!
Mittu had a heart of gold. He was always concerned about everyone else and how they were doing. Never was it about him. He was one of the many colorful kids growing up in Hurontown.
His love of sports was infectious.
Mittu was loved by every life he touched.
He carried his enthusiasm out side of sports and lifted everyone he met a little higher and closer to their potential.
We all love you!!
Rest in Peace our great friend🙏
