CLAYTON T. LUTHER's Obituary
CLAYTON THOMAS LUTHER, age 14, of Pelkie, MI passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 9, 2013 at his home. He was born on August 19, 1998 in Iron Mountain, MI the son of Glenn and Marilyn (Clay) Luther. Clayton completed his freshman year at Baraga High School where he earned Academic Honors. He enjoyed playing with his dogs, George and Andre. He was an avid reader, and liked collecting coins. Clayton was very knowledgeable about history and government. He wrote many letters to authors, political leaders, and celebrities, receiving responses from most of them. Clayton was a Gift of Life donor.
Clayton is survived by his parents, brother Matthew Luther of Pelkie, paternal grandmother Jacqueline Pederson of Newaygo maternal grandmother Inez Clay of Kewadin, Uncle Curt Luther of Grand Rapids, Aunt Wendy and Darren Harrold of Belmont, and Aunt Nancy and Donald Ward of Webberville, Great Aunt Emily Matteson of Traverse City, Great Aunt Louise and Melvin Hollenbeck, and several cousins. He was preceded in death by grandfathers Charles M. Clay, and Gary C. Luther.
Funeral services for Clayton were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 13, 2013 from Mission United Lutheran Church, Pelkie with Pastor John Autio officiating. Interment will take place in Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens. The family received friends at the church on Thursday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service.
