Constance A. "Connie" Lytikainen's Obituary
Constance A. “Connie” Lytikainen, age 80, of L’Anse, MI passed away Friday, November 27, 2020 at UP Health System, Marquette. Connie was born in L’Anse, MI on December 10, 1939 the daughter of the late Fred and Bernice (Elmblad) Borgen. Connie graduated from L’Anse High School. She married Gerald Lytikainen in L’Anse on June 28, 1958. He preceded her in death on December 30, 2005. Connie had worked as a florist at the Greenhouse in L'Anse, the Baraga Flower Shop and then owned and operated the Sunshine Flower Shop in L'Anse until her retirement. She was a member of United Lutheran Church, L’Anse. Connie enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, knitting and going to the "Castle". She would relax on Sunday’s by cooking a large dinner for family and friends.
Connie is survived by her loving children Michael (Sandra) Lytikainen, Corie (Bill) Saarinen and Tom Lytikainen all of L’Anse, grandchildren Christian Lytikainen of Marquette and Mike Lytikainen of L’Anse, great grandchildren Danica and Briella, brothers Dan (Karen) Borgen of North Carolina and Dale Borgen of L’Anse, sister Bernadette (Sonny) Funke of California, aunts Marie Elmblad and Rita Brennan both of L’Anse, uncle Clyde (Alyce) Elmblad of L’Anse, sisters-in-law Ruth Baker and Ann Alspaugh both of Keweenaw Bay, Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her grandson Ben Lytikainen.
A graveside service for Connie will be held at 12 p.m. Tuesday, August 17, 2021 in the Keweenaw Bay Cemetery with Pastor John Ansell officiating. Immediately following the graveside service, a time to remember Connie and a luncheon will be held from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. in the Harrington Gathering Room, located at the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L’Anse.
The family asks that the only thing you bring for them are stories and memories to share of Connie.
