Craig J. "Stub" Miller's Obituary
Craig James “Stub” Miller, age 65 of Chassell, MI joined daughter Tabathia Miller in Heaven on Saturday the 20th of April. Craig was born on March 26th, 1959, son of the late Warren and Lorraine (Barney) Miller. Craig grew up on a farm in Topaz until the age of 10 and moved to Alston. Craig loved to go to camp in Matchwood on the snowmobile with his uncle George, Aunt Dodie, and Cousin Ronnie Miller where he was given the nickname Stub. He graduated from L’Anse High School in 1978. Craig married the love of his life Jacqueline (the Baraga girl) Lanala on February 27th, 1982, and recently celebrated their 42nd anniversary. When frustrated with his wife he would say “I can’t read the writing in the clouds”. He began working with his father and brothers in the Miller and Sons logging business, followed by working at the Village Bar, Pettibone, and Terex. Craig was a dedicated Lions fan, and played football in high school, baseball for the Village Bar, and Dartball. Craig enjoyed his dad's camp at Motley, spending time with his dad, brothers, and nephews during hunting season. Always laughing, joking, filled with positive energy, and would introduce himself as “The Good Miller.”
Craig is survived by his loving wife Jacqueline “Jackie”, his daughters Trinia Miller, Tracy Miller, and Teirdra (Kenneth) Tervo, (children of his heart) Tony Miller, Kelly Manthey, Wyler Miller, and Alicia Miller, grandchildren Domanic Schemmel, Skylar, Colson, Noah, Malakhia Allison, Nikoli Miller, Zedekiah Miller, Leora Tervo, and Valencia Tervo, siblings Warren (Connie) Miller, Bonnie (Larry) Heikkinen, Debbie Hietikko, Michele (Terry) Miller-Ogea, Mark Miller, brothers-in-law and sisters in-law Tony Lanala, Renee Corbeil-Smith, Ann Marie Lanala, Dave Mahr.
