DALE C. HOLLON's Obituary
DALE C. HOLLON, age 46, of Skanee passed away suddenly on Thursday, September 15, 2011. He was born in L’Anse on August 19, 1965 the son of Jerry and Carol (Johnson) Hollon. Dale graduated from L’Anse High School in 1983. He was a veteran of the US Navy. He married the former Gail Soli in L’Anse in October of 1987. Dale was a truck driver for area logging companies, and was the Arvon Twp. Fire Chief. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Skanee. Dale enjoyed bear and deer hunting, fishing, 4-wheeling and cooking.
Mr. Hollon is survived by his loving wife Gail, children Chad Soli, Dillon Hollon and Tara Hollon all of Skanee, his parents, and sister Tammy Hollon of Skanee. Aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Funeral services for Mr. Hollon were held at 4 pm, Saturday, September 17, 2011 from the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L’Anse with Pastor Judy Mattson officiating. Interment took place in the Skanee Cemetery. The family greeted friends at the funeral chapel on Saturday from 2 pm until the time of the service. Baraga County area veterans, under the direction of the Baraga American Legion Post 444 conducted military honors at the funeral chapel on Saturday at 3:30 pm. Following the services, the family invited friends to join them for fellowship and a luncheon at Zion Lutheran Church, Skanee.
