DANIEL E. HILTUNEN's Obituary
DANIEL E. HILTUNEN, 40, of Glen Ellyn, IL. and Nisula, MI. died on August 22, 2004 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in IL. on November 23, 1963. The family moved to Nisula in 1979 and he graduated from L’Anse High School in 1982. In 1987 he moved back to IL. to work in the family limousine business. At the time of his death Daniel had worked his way to manager of the West Suburban Travelers Limousine Service. He enjoyed playing golf and was an electronics hobbyist.
Daniel was the beloved son of Carol and Raymond Hiltunen; fiancé of Maryann Moser; dear brother of Laurie (Raymond) Kaurala, Jeffrey (Jonna) and Catherine; fond uncle of Travis, Kyle, Rayann, Danielle, Megan, Sarah and Alli; best friend, fiancée’s family, Jamie (Paul) and Christy (Christopher); grandpa of Anthony, Dylan and Alex; nephew, cousin and friend of many; and he is also survived by his second mother, Aunt Janet. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Alli and Fred Hiltunen, Coletta and Adam Mallak, cousins, Sally Hiltunen Brunton, Peter Bartanen, Scott Hadaway.
A memorial service for Mr. Hiltunen was held at 1 p.m., Saturday, September 4, 2004 from the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L’Anse with Father Antony officiating. Interment has taken place in the Queen of Heaven Cemetery, IL. The family received friends on Saturday from 12 noon until time of service. Following the service the family invited friends to join them for fellowship and a luncheon in the Harrington Gathering room, located at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials in Daniels honor be directed to Make-A-Wish Foundation or the Ronald McDonald House. The Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L’Anse has been entrusted with arrangements.
