DAVID M. BARRETT's Obituary
DAVID M. BARRETT, age 47, of Baraga, passed away suddenly on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at 31576 Cabbage Road, Portage Township. He was born in Rochester, MI on September 25, 1964 the son of Arthur “Skip” and Lillian (Bittner) Barrett. David graduated from Baraga High School in 1983.He married the former Tracey Merritt on September 23, 1989. David was the plant manger of Baraga County Concrete Company. He watched all of his daughters’ sports and was their greatest fan. David enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and looking for “the big buck”, fishing, and 4-wheeling.
David is survived by his wife Tracey, children Audrey, McKenzie, and Darcey, father Arthur D. “Skip” (Cindy) Barrett, Sr. of Baraga, brother Arthur D. (Janine) Barrett Jr. of Baraga, step sister Megan O’Keefe of Brooklyn, NY, and grandmothers Shirley Bittner of Sterling Heights, MI and Margaret Barrett of Romeo, MI. Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins, and other family members also survive. He was preceded in death by his mother Lillian, and his sister Tammy Heikkinen.
Funeral services for David were held at 1 pm on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L’Anse with Pastor Greg Mileski officiating. The family received friends at the funeral chapel on Saturday from 12 noon until the time of the service. Following the service, the family invited friends to join them for fellowship and a luncheon in the Harrington Gathering Room, located at the funeral chapel.
