DEHANNAH R. PELTO's Obituary
DEHANNAH RHEE PELTO of Baraga, MI. died Saturday, October 1, 2005 in Gaylord, MI. after being struck by a motor vehicle while walking to work. She was 22 years old. Dehannah was born in Salinas, CA. on February 4, 1983 daughter of Neil and Pamela (McCormick) Pelto. She graduated from Baraga High School in 2002. Dehannah was attending college at Grace Baptist College in Gaylord at the time of her death. She was a manager at McDonald's Restaurant in Gaylord and had worked as a clerk at Pat's IGA in L'Anse. Dehannah was a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church, Baraga. She enjoyed singing and helping others. Dehannah was an outgoing people person with a deep and abiding faith.
Miss Pelto is survived by her loving father, Neil Pelto and his special friend Victoria of Baraga, mother, Pamela McCormick of CA., brothers, Loren and John Pelto, grandmother, Jean Pelto, step-brother, Johnathan White and step-sister, Jessica White all of Baraga. Numerous aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
Funeral services for Miss Pelto were held at 11 a.m. Friday, October 7, 2005 at the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L'Anse with evangelist Phil Schipper officiating and Pastor Alan Fluegge assisting. Interment took place in the Pelkie Cemetery. Casket escorts were Chad and Chris Fluegge, Charles Pelto, Keith Kraker, Timothy and Keith Budreau. The family received friends on Thursday, October 6, 2005 from 6 until 9 p.m. at the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel and for 1 hour prior to the service on Friday. Following the service on Friday, the family invited friends to join them for fellowship and luncheon in the Harrington Gathering room, located at the funeral home. Memorials in Dehannah's honor may be directed to the Dehannah R. Pelto Memorial Fund, Grace Baptist College, Gaylord, MI. The Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L'Anse has been entrusted with arrangements.
