DENNIS F. LANE's Obituary
DENNIS F. LANE, 67, of L'Anse, MI. passed away Thursday evening July 3, 2008 at his residence with his loving family by his side. Dennis was born February 4, 1941 in Berlin, New Hampshire, son of the late Evertt and Evelyn (Bartlett) Lane. He attended schools in Maine and Hancock, MI. and had been a resident of the L'Anse area since he was 19 years old Dennis married the former Patricia Paquette in the Sacred Heart Church in L'Anse on September 9, 1960. He was employed at the Celotex Corporation in L'Anse until his retirement in 2006. Dennis was an active person , belonging to many pastime organizations including the Baraga County Horseshoe League, Pool and Cribbage leagues. He was a former president of the Woodworkers Union Local 3-283. He also enjoyed walking, casino gaming and their casino trips.
Dennis is survived by Patsy, his loving wife of 47 years , sons Robert (Lisa) Lane and David (Michele) Lane , of L'Anse, daughters Denise (Troy) Whitlow of L'Anse and Virginia Lane (Todd) Topash of Sault Ste. Marie, grandchildren Amanda, Jessica, Timmer, Jessica, Lacey, McKenna, Tanner, Holly, Daniel, Trey, and Selina, great-grandchildren Cole, Jaylyn, and Jaycee. His stepfather Sulo Ellis of L'Anse, brothers Gary Lane of Maine, David (Vivian) Marian of Florida , Gene (Fay) Marian of Houghton along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by twin children and a brother Eugene Lane.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Tuesday July 8, 2008, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 11 a.m. with Fr. George Maki, officiant. Rev. John Henry offered the homily service. Burial took place in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family greeted friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Tuesday at the church.
