DONALD B. MESSER's Obituary
DONALD B. MESSER, 63, of Baraga passed away at Marquette General Hospital Wednesday June 2, 2010, following a lengthy illness. He was born in L’Anse on September 15, 1946 the son of the late Ike and Cecelia (Roberts) Messer. Don graduated from Baraga High School. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Don married the former Linda Magnant in Baraga on October 10, 1970. He worked as a welder for Lake Shore, Inc. in Ontonagon. Don was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Baraga. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, working puzzles and playing on the computer.
Mr. Messer is survived by his loving wife Linda, sons Jerry, Donald, and Jason (Lisa) all of Baraga, grandchildren Kayla and McKenzie, brothers John (Effie) Messer of Baraga, and Jimmy Cook of L’Anse, sisters Mary, Lorraine, and Lucille, and aunts Florence and Margaret both of L'Anse. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by his grandson Brendan.
Graveside military services for Mr. Messer will be held at the Baraga Cemetery at a later date.
