DOROTHY E. "DOTTIE" MILLER's Obituary
DOROTHY ELAINE “DOTTIE” MILLER, 73, of Baraga passed away Monday, November 30, 2009 at Bayside Village following a lengthy illness. She was born in Ann Arbor, MI. on July 8, 1936 the daughter of the late William and Grace (McConnel) Keppler. She attended school in Ann Arbor. Dottie married Conrad Miller in Ypsilanti, MI. on April 7, 1956. He preceded her in death on May 26, 2003. Dottie worked as a Unit Manager for New Day Treatment Center, L'Anse retiring in 2001 due to illness. She was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Church, Assinins and the Baraga American Legion Post 444 Auxiliary. Dottie had been active in AA, enjoyed crocheting, was fond of jewelry, collecting bells and traveling. She adored her pet dog.
Mrs. Miller is survived by her sisters Phyllis (Bob) Breece of Anaheim, CA. and Hazel Coleman of Corona, CA. and numerous other family members. She is also survived by her special niece Clara Chosa and her loving sisters-in-law Irene Pawlowski and Ilene LaPlante who were her faithful caregivers.
Funeral services for Mrs. Miller were held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 3, 2009 at the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L'Anse with Father Janusz Romanek officiating. Interment took place in the Baraga Cemetery. The family received friends at the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L'Anse on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Following the service, friends were invited to join the family for fellowship and a luncheon in the Harrington Gathering room located at the funeral chapel.
