EARL DEMERS ALMLI's Obituary
Earl Demers Almli passed away January 29, 2014, at Bayside Village in L’Anse, MI, where he had been a resident for nearly two years.
He was born April 1, 1937, in Pequaming, MI, to John and Ada (Rock) Almli. He graduated high school in Sault St Marie, MI. He served in the US Army during the Korean War.
Earl was married to and later divorced, Margaret ‘Peggy’ Boop and Margaret Jean VanCooley
He worked for Celotex and various construction companies throughout his life. He was a boilermaker and a millwright. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, gardening, canning, and cooking.
He is survived by 1 sister Corrine (John) McGinty, Rochester, MN; 3 brothers, John (Marie) Almli, Standish, MI, Jerry (Jennifer) Almli and Dennis (Brenda) Almli, both of Baraga, MI. He is also survived by several step-children, nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents, sister Shelvie Almli, brother Patrick Almli, 2 step-sons, and his special friend, Elaine Juntunen.
By the request of the deceased, there will be no visitation or service. A family gathering of remembrance will be held at a later date.
