EDGAR W. MARTIN's Obituary
Edgar Wayne Martin, age 89, of Flagstaff, Arizona, passed away on Sunday, August 12, 2012 at Genesys Health Park, Flint, MI. He was born in Pontiac, MI on May 17, 1923 the son of the late Isaac and Laura (Hamil) Martin. He had worked in maintenance for the Federal Aviation Authority. He had lived in Tucson, AZ from 1958 to 2011. His wife, Ann Marie preceded him in death in 2011.
Mr. Martin is survived by his 2 daughters, Laurel (David) Kanthak and Janet (Kenneth) Fries; 5 grandchildren, Jeffery (Beth) Kurtz, Joanne Hanna, Clint (Pearl) Fries, Kristin (Dan) Shapiro, and Jennifer (Dennis) Teller; 13 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters Devonna (Eri) Youngs and Delores Finkbeiner, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11 am on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 from Sacred Heart Catholic Church, L’Anse with Father John Longbucco, celebrant. Interment took place in the L’Anse Evergreen Cemetery. A luncheon was held at the church on Tuesday following the Mass.
Memorials in Mr. Martin’s honor may be directed to Catholic Relief Services.
