EINO ROBERT RAJALA's Obituary
EINO ROBERT RAJALA, 83 of Watton, MI., passed away Tuesday evening June 17, 2008 at Bayside Village, L'Anse, MI. where he had been a resident for the past 2 years. He was born in Watton, MI. on March 30, 1925 the son of the late Herman and Jennie (Saari) Rajala. Robert attended school in Watton. He married the former Edith Wedin in Negaunee on November 11, 1944 whom he was very devoted to. Robert was a self employed woodsman. In additon, he drove school bus for many years. In his spare time he owned and operated a sawmill and did excavating and backhoeing with his "toys". He also enjoyed wood working projects.
Mr. Rajala is survived by his loving wife, Edith, children, Gladys (Max) Beck of Watton, Jane (Dale) Kofoed of Arlington Heights, IL., 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and brother-in-law, Richard Wedin of Michigamme. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his son Stanley during the Vietnam War in 1969, and his brother.
A memorial service for Mr. Rajala was held at 2 p.m., Sunday, June 22, 2008 at the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L'Anse with Pastor Mark Reinsch officiating. Interment will take place in the Covington Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral chapel on Sunday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. Following the service, friends were invited to join the family for fellowship and a luncheon at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Covington. Memorials in Mr. Rajala's honor may be directed to Alzheimers Research.
