Esther E. Lind's Obituary
Esther E. Lind, age 88, of L’Anse, Michigan passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at Bayside Village, L’Anse. She was born in Marengo, Wisconsin on September 3, 1928 the daughter of the late Charles and Hilma (Mattson) Huusko. Esther attended Brunswillow School in Marengo and graduated from Ashland High School. She married Gordon Lind in Marengo. He preceded her in death. Esther was a member of Independent Apostolic Lutheran Church. Esther enjoyed reading and discussing politics and loved spending time with her granddaughters.
Esther is survived by her granddaughters Eva and Lana Lind, brothers Eino Rikkola and Charles Huusko, sisters Dorothy Little, Martha Supanich and Jean McLaughlin and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a host of brothers and sisters in faith. She was preceded in death the by her son Gordon Lind, Jr. and brothers Jack Rikkola and Raymond Rikkola.
Funeral services for Esther were held at 12 p.m., Saturday, September 9, 2017 at the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L’Anse with Minister Chaz Prusi officiating. The family greeted friends on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Immediately following the funeral service, interment took place in the Evergreen Cemetery, L’Anse. Friends were invited to join the family for fellowship and a luncheon in the Harrington Gathering Room, located at the funeral chapel following the interment.
