ETHYL C. LeCLAIRE's Obituary
ETHYL C. LeCLAIRE, 90, of L'Anse, passed away Monday, March 25, 2013 at Bayside Village, L'Anse, where she had been a resident for the past five years. She was born in Pequaming, MI on August 5, 1922, the daughter of the late Albert and Ragna (Anderson) Schumacher. Ethyl graduated from L'Anse High School. On October 26, 1946 she married Louis LeClaire at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, L'Anse. He preceded her in death in 1976. Ethyl was a member of Covington VFW Auxiliary Post #8945, the "Dis & Dat" Club, and former president of L'Anse VFW Auxiliary. Ethyl loved to knit and bake, and was a "Shopping Queen"
Mrs. LeClaire is survived by her loving children Louis (Carolyn) LeClaire of Alston, Paul (Ann) LeClaire of L'Anse, Mary LeClaire of Aura, and Nancy (Tim) McIntyre of L'Anse, 8 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and sister Kathleen (Tom) Gribble of Pequaming. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. She was preceded in death by a son.
Funeral services for Mrs. LeClaire were held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L'Anse with Deacon John Cadeau officiating. The family greeted friends at the funeral chapel on Thursday from 12 noon until the time of the service. Following the funeral service, the family invited friends to join them for fellowship and a luncheon in the Harrington Gathering Room, located at the funeral chapel. Spring interment will take place in the L'Anse Evergreen Cemetery.
