Eugene A. "Tooter" Olson's Obituary
Eugene A. “Tooter” Olson, age 69, of L’Anse passed away Friday, January 20, 2017 at his home surrounded by family. He was born in Hancock, MI on November 13, 1947 the only child of the late Harris L and Lois A. (Warren) Olson. Tooter graduated from L’Anse High School in 1966 and then attended Gogebic Community College and received his Associates Degree. He had held many jobs, including driving taxi, working at the mine and the Ojibwa Casino as a black jack dealer. Tooter enjoyed hunting mushrooms and spending time outdoors. He was an avid reader and Packer fan. His greatest joy was watching his sons play football.
Tooter is survived by his sons Eric E. (Candice) Olson of Howell, MI, Charles D. Olson, John A. Olson, Joel D. Olson and David H. Olson all of L’Anse.
A memorial luncheon for Tooter will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 from 12 noon until 2 p.m. at the Ojibwa Casino conference room, Baraga MI.
