GARY J. LA BEAU SR.'s Obituary
GARY J. LA BEAU, SR., 55, of Baraga passed away Sunday, May 8, 2005 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital shortly after admittance. He was born in Baraga on July 5, 1949 son of the late Ellsworth and Mary L (Freels) LaBeau. Gary graduated from the Baraga High School in 1983. He was a member of St. Anns Catholic Church, Keweenaw Bay Indian Community and the Ojibwa Senior Citizens. Gary married the former Susan Klug on October 8, 1988 in Baraga. He was an avid scanner fan and C B buff. Gary enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping with his family and loved animals. He also was skillful in small engine repairing.
Mr. LaBeau is survived by his loving wife Susan, sons Gary Joseph Jr., Shawn Edward, James Robert and daughter Michelle Ranee, all at home. He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Funeral services for Mr. LaBeau were held at 2 p.m. from the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L’Anse with Pastor Terry Langston officiating. The family received friends on Friday, May 13, 2005 from 1 p.m. until time of the service. Interment took place in the Baraga Cemetery at 3 p.m. Following the service; the family invited friends to join them for fellowship and luncheon at the Ojibwa Senior Citizens Center in Baraga. The Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L’Anse has been entrusted with arrangements
