GARY P. STEEN's Obituary
GARY P. STEEN, 73, of L'Anse, MI., passed away Saturday, February 23, 2008 at Marquette General Hospital. He had been a patient there for 2 days. Gary was born March 20, 1934 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of the late Joseph T. and Margaret H. (Cardwell) Steen. He graduated from Dearborn High School in 1952. Gary served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and following his discharge, went to work for the Ford Motor Company. At his retirement, he was the central check writer for payroll world wide. Gary was a member of United Methodist Church, L'Anse. He enjoyed golfing and cooking.
Mr. Steen is survived by his children, Stephen Steen of Dearborn, MI., Joseph (Susan) Steen of Peck, MI., and Lisa (Mitch) McKie of Sarasota, FL., and six grandchildren. His special friend, Lila also survives. He was preceded in death by 1 brother.
A memorial celebration for Mr. Steen will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 14, 2008 at the Silver River Bridge, L'Anse with Pastor John Henry officiating. Following the celebration friends are invited to join the family for fellowship and a luncheon at the Hilltop Restaurant, L'Anse.
