GARY R. REED's Obituary
Gary R. Reed, 62, of Fish Hatchery Rd., Elo, MI., died suddenly at his home, Saturday, February 28, 2004. He was born in Jackson, MI. on May 15, 1941 son of the late G. Raynor and Evalyne (Ford) Reed. He graduated from Napoleon High School in 1959. Gary was employed by Ford Motor Company as an inspector. He was a member of United Auto Workers, the Baraga American Legion Post 444, Otter Lake and Ottawa Sportsman’s Clubs. He was a licensed private pilot. He enjoyed outdoors and observing wildlife.
Mr. Reed is survived by his brothers; Larry (Sharon) Reed of Clark Lake, MI. Tom (Felice) Reed of Dewitt, MI. and sister, Noreen (Jim) Abercrombie of Baraga. 6 nieces, 2 nephews and numerous cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by his father in 1966, his mother in 1993 and 1 brother.
A memorial service for Mr. Reed was held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 6, 2004 from the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L’Anse with Judy Mattson officiating. The family received friends on Saturday from 12:00 noon until time of service. Military honors were conducted at 12:30 p.m., under the direction of Baraga County Area Veterans.
