GEORGE A. TONKS's Obituary
GEORGE A. TONKS, 63, of Skanee, MI. passed away at Baraga County Memorial Hospital, L’Anse on Monday, September 26, 2005 where he had been a patient for one week. He was born in Cook County, IL. on October 11, 1941 son of the late George and Betty (Slager) Tonks. George graduated from high school in Chicago in 1958. He was employed as a diesel mechanic in the trucking industry. George had been a resident of Skanee for the past 8 years. He enjoyed fishing, feeding the deer in his yard and loved the outdoors.
Mr. Tonks is survived by his loving children, Duane (Donna) Tonks of Lansing, IL., George Tonks of Chicago, IL. and Bridgette Tonks of Thornton, IL., 2 grandchildren, sisters, Sandy Caton of New Mexico, Rica Gretz of Florida, and ½ brother, Raymond Boerema of Florida. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Family services for Mr. Tonks will be held at a later date. The Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L’Anse assisted the family with arrangements.
