George Andrew LaTendresse's Obituary
George Andrew LaTendresse, age 72, of Herman, MI passed away Friday, March 4, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family and friends. He was born in Hancock, MI on December 2, 1943 the son of the late Philip and Beatrice (Bergerson) LaTendresse. George graduated from Baraga High School in 1961 and received a BSBA from MTU. He served in the National Guard and worked for Pettibone and Baraga Products. He married the former Barbara Lanczy at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Baraga on June 17, 1967. George loved heavy equipment and working in the woods. The kids who spent time in Herman will remember him for his wonderful cooking and the projects such as the bees, chickens, turkeys, apples and the never ending firewood. Many summer days were spent riding his 4 wheeler in the woods and to the Silver River with grandchildren and the dogs.
George is survived by his wife Barb, sons Phil (Kathryn) LaTendresse of Tapiola, MI , MAJ Joe (Ivy) LaTendresse of Hancock, MI and Morgan (Jamie) LaTendresse of Volo, IL, grandchildren Jordan, Evelyn, Thomas, Charlotte, Cole, Arianna and another grandchild due in September, brother Tom (Cindy) LaTendresse of Baraga, sisters Anne (Keith) Lambert of L’Anse, Elizabeth (Gary) Miner and Pauline (Norman) Flaga of Clawson, MI. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Jeanne.
A celebration of George’s life will be held in the summer.
