GEORGE M. BEAUPREY's Obituary
GEORGE M. BEAUPREY, 83, of L’Anse passed away Tuesday, September 28, 2004 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital’s skilled nursing unit. He was born in Covington, MI. on August 14, 1921 son of the late George and May (Rehaume) Beauprey. George attended Covington School. He served in the US Navy during WWII. George married the former Clare Naber in Ewen, MI. She preceded him in death. He was a self-employed logger and worked for various loggers in the area. George was a lifetime member of the Covington VFW Post 8945. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing horseshoes.
Mr. Beauprey is survived by his brothers, Fred (Lorraine) Beauprey and Joseph (Evelyn) Beauprey both of Sidnaw, sister, Isabelle Hardes of L’Anse and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 1 sister.
Funeral services for Mr. Beauprey were held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, September 30, 2004 at the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L’Anse with Father Chacko officiating. Interment took place in the Sidnaw Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral chapel on Thursday evening from 5:00 p.m. until time of the service at 6:30 p.m. Baraga County Area Veterans, under the direction of the Baraga American Legion Post 444 conducted military honors at 6:00 p.m. Following the services, the family invited friends to join them for fellowship and refreshments in the Harrington Gathering room, located at the funeral home.
