HARRIET L. TOLLEFSON's Obituary
HARRIET L. TOLLEFSON, 88, of L'Anse, passed away Saturday February 9, 2008 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital a day after admission. She was born in Pequaming, MI. on January 17, 1920, the daughter of the late William and Rose (Carlson) Johnson. Harriet attended school in Pequaming and graduated from Baraga High School. She married Arne Tollefson on February 25, 1939 in L'Anse. Together they operated a dairy farm starting in 1947. After his death on February 23, 1973 she continued to maintain the farm until she retired in 1987. Harriet was a member of United Lutheran Church in L'Anse. She enjoyed her flowers, gardening, playing piano, sewing, baking, farming, and spending time with her grandchildren who looked forward to playing and working on the farm.
Mrs. Tollefson is survived by her loving son, James (Susie) Tollefson of L'Anse, grandchildren, Jimbo (Susie) Tollefson, Bridget (Jeff) Collins, Debbie (Dave) Mulari, and Kathleen (Jay) LeClaire, great grandchildren, Jim, Jeffrey, Amber, Ashley, Chelsey, Erika, and Kathleen. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Wilbur, Alfred, and Grant, and sisters, Barbara, and Lorraine.
Honoring Mrs. Tollefson's wishes, there were no public services. Spring interment will take place in the L'Anse Evergreen Cemetery.
