HELEN S. 'SUSIE' RAJALA's Obituary
HELEN S. ‘SUSIE’ RAJALA, age 64, of Covington, passed away suddenly on Thursday, September 20, 2012, at her home. She was born in Covington, MI on February 25, 1948 the daughter of the late Toivo and Lempi (Niemala) Kanniainen. Susie attended L’Anse Area Schools. She married Peter Rajala at Trinity Lutheran Church, Covington in 1964. Susie had been employed for several years at Celotex Corp. and also worked at the Hutala Sawmill. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Susie enjoyed doing crossword puzzles.
Mrs. Rajala is survived by her loving husband Peter, son Jamie Rajala of Amasa, daughter Deborah (Tom) Magnuson of Mendota Heights, MN, grandchildren Alec, Kaia, Andy, and Aren, and sisters Marie (Jack) Kauppila of N. Las Vegas, NV, and Betsy (Roger) Bennett of Watton. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her son Mark, and her brother Steven.
Funeral services for Mrs. Rajala were held at 12 noon on Monday, September 24, 2012 from Trinity Lutheran Church, Covington with Pastor Mark Reinsch officiating. Interment will take place in the Covington Cemetery. The family received friends at the church on Sunday, September 23, 2012 from 6 until 8 p.m. and on Monday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
