David, I am so sorry to hear that your dad died. He was a very quiet neighbor. I would see him walk by and occasionally get to talk to him. I'm not home yet but will see you around the first of June.
My Dad, Roy, knew Herman since the 1930s when he worked on the farm with him and stayed with the family. Herman's Mom's sister was Lena Palosaari of Dollar Bay who was a close family friend.
My Dad is up in years and doesn't know how to use a computer so he sends his condolences through me. He was deeply saddened when I read the obituary to him.
Lot of good memories there.

I'll always remember your Dads friendship visits with my cousin and myself; Together, we'd sit around and talk about the old days....
