IRENE SAYOTOVICH's Obituary
IRENE SAYOTOVICH, 88, of L’Anse passed away Thursday, May 5, 2011 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital, L’Anse following a short illness. Irene was born in Chicago, Illinois on January 21, 1923 the daughter of the late John and Rose (Missina) Zenchina. Irene attended school in Chicago. She married Rudolph Sayotovich in Chicago on November 11, 1950. He preceded her in death. Irene was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, L'Anse and St. Rita Circle. She enjoyed cooking, baking, playing bingo and eating out. She loved spending time with her family.
Mrs. Sayotovich is survived by her loving sons, James (Terry) Sayotovich of Hancock, and Ron (Karlene) Sayotovich of L’Anse, grandchildren Cindy, Corey, Kristen, Jamie, Amber, Aubry, and Kiira, great grandchildren Dylan, Dustin, Cale, Gage, Nathan, and Connor, brother Edward Zenchina of Chicago, and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Richard in 2010.
Funeral services for Mrs. Sayotovich were held at 11 am Monday, May 9, 2011 at the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L’Anse with Father John Longbucco officiating. Interment took place in the L’Anse Evergreen Cemetery. The family greeted friends at the funeral chapel on Monday from 10 am until the time of the service. Following the interment, the family invited friends to join them for fellowship and a luncheon at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, L’Anse.
