JACQUELINE H. LOCKE's Obituary
JACQUELINE H. LOCKE, 79, of L’Anse, passed away at Bayside Village, Sunday, December 23,2007 following a lengthy illness. Jacqueline was born October 21, 1928, in Flint, Michigan, daughter of the late Neil and Irene (Brown) Porter. She attended schools and graduated in Flint. She attended Baker Business School in Flint. In 1954, she married Glenn Locke in Flint and he preceded her in death in 1980. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Flint. Jacqueline was a school librarian and involved in a variety of charitable activities. She did missionary work in Jamaica, and Mexico, serving the orphanages and teaching the children She made frequent trips to Mexico where she became known as the “Chocolate Lady “ as she loaded up her motor home with candies for the children She was honored as one of Michigan’s most charitable women. She often traveled by motorcycle to visit her family with her goggled dog in the sidecar. She was one “unconventional lady.” Jacqueline is survived by her loving children Dawn Peterson of Chassell and David (Mary) Locke of Breckinridge, MI., 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Services and burial will take place in Flint Memorial Park, Flint, Michigan. The Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L’Anse assisted the family with arrangements.
