I was saddened and surprised to hear of Jim's passing. We met on a trip to Isle Royale. Jim loved to be outside and we enjoyed some nice hikes around the island. He was always so helpful and pleasant to be around. He will be missed.

I did not know Jim for very long. I was appointed to the UP State Fair Board at the same time as he was. We connected immediately. His background and opinions were similar to mine. I wish I would have known him better.
His family have my sincere condolences.

I wanted to share the story of how I knew James your loved one. I was at Shop-KO in Houghton and I was developing pictures he was waiting to do so. We began to talk shared some pictures. He was doing pictures of someones birthday so he could make a book for them. We exchanged e-mails and our love of photography. I had only met James that one time but through photos of the Arnheim farm and his children and grandchildren. I feel blessed to of known James my photo friend. He also gave me advice on helping my son who is on the autism spectrum. He was a man of wise words. So sorry for your loss.
He will be greatly missed in our neighborhood. A kind hearted and caring neighbor. The family is in my thoughts and prayers.
My deepest condolences,
Richard P. Magee
Our sympathy to the Krenek Family. Mr. Krenek was the Extension Director while I was growing up in Baraga County. He always did such a wonderful job with the Pelkie Fair. Our prayers go out to your family.

My sincere sympathy and prayers to the family. I had known Jim, (Mr. Krenek) for many years in Extension. It was no easy task to follow Jim and Jim (Dompier) as the County Extension Director in Baraga County. I always enjoyed working with Jim. He did some great things for Baraga County that will serve as his legacy.
Sincere sympathy to all the family. I have known Jim for many years. We met when he was still teaching in Coleman, Wi. After he moved to L'Anse, we with a few other community leaders worked on a few projects. More recently, when he visited it was obvious he was a proud Dad and grandpa. May he rest in peace.
Jim and I met at the Red Cross and became friends. We had too few coffees together. My condolences.
I was shocked and saddened to see that Jim had died. He has been helping us at the Greater Lansing Food Bank to train volunteers on computer skills needed to conduct hunger surveys for Feeding America. He was always so enthusiastic. I loved working with him and people truly enjoyed his teaching methods. My deepest sympathy to his family. It was a joy working with him. He made our task so much easier.
My deepest sympathy to the family. I have known and respected Jim for many years...meeting him as a news source, and continuing as a friend. His counsel and advice was amazing. Even after he moved and I retired, we got together at least once a year for our picnic at Hancock Beach. We would buy subs and soft drinks-and just visit. It was great. A most treasured friendship. I will miss Jim deeply.
