Jean C. "Queenie" Cronkright's Obituary
Jean C. “Queenie” Cronkright, age 87, of Trout Creek passed away on February 23, 2017 at her home with those who loved her at her side. She was born in Calderwood, Michigan on November 11, 1929 the daughter of the late Charles and Vesper (Heebner) Pittsley. Jean attended school in Kenton and Trout Creek. She married Daniel Cronkright in Kenton on October 25, 1947. They resided in Trout Creek where they raised their children. He preceded her in death. Jean’s joy in life came from spending time with her family and friends who she loved deeply. She enjoyed doing crosswords and being a jokester. Jean was lovingly known as “Queenie”
Jean is survived by her loving children, Shirley (Charles) Lindsey of Newberry, MI, Deborah Teikari of Paynesville, MI, Joe Cronkright of Trout Creek, MI, Cindy Cronkright of Marquette, MI and Kevin (Betty) Cronkright of Iron River, MI, 15 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Daniel, infant daughter Joann, sisters, Edith, Evelyn, Dixie, Lois and Beatrice, brothers Billy, Russell, and Harvey Dean.
A funeral service for Jean was held at 12 p.m. on Monday, February 27, 2017 at the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L’Anse with Pastor Mark Westie officiating. The family greeted friends at the funeral chapel on Monday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Immediately following the funeral service, the family invited friends to join them for fellowship and a luncheon at the Trout Creek Legion.
Spring interment took place in the Trout Creek Cemetery.
