JOHN E. WOODWARD's Obituary
JOHN E. WOODWARD, 89, of Sun City West, AZ. passed away Wednesday evening, January 10, 2007 at Del Webb Memorial Hospital, Sun City West, AZ. following a lengthy illness. He was born in Merton, WI. on May 22, 1917 son of the late Albert Edward and Lily (Nielsen) Woodward. John worked for the McCullough Corporation in California for 41 years and was vice president of manufacturing. Following his retirement in 1979 he moved to Arizona. He married the former Katherine Vuk of L'Anse and she preceded him in death in 1992. On October 29, 1994 he married the former Rosemary Lee at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, L'Anse. John was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, L'Anse and Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Sun City West, AZ. In his younger days he enjoyed sailing and woodworking activities.
Mr. Woodward is survived by his loving wife, Rosemary, children, Albert (Katherine) Woodward of Prior Lake, MN, Jacqueline (Richard) Kostick of Golden Valley, MN., step-children, Steven Georgeff of Madison, WI., Brian (Susan) Georgeff of Oostburg, WI., Dale (Karla) Georgeff of Grafton, WI., Connie (William) Nielsen of Port Washington, WI., step-son-in-law James Bersch, 7 grandchildren, 8 step-grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by 1 brother, 1 sister, 1 grandson, 1 stepdaughter, and 1 step-grandchild.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 20, 2007 from Sacred Heart Catholic Church, L'Anse with Father George Maki, celebrant. The family received friends at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of the Mass. Spring interment will take place in the L'Anse Evergreen Cemetery. The family has entrusted the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L'Anse with arrangements. Memorials in Mr. Woodward’s honor may be directed to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, L'Anse
