JOSEPH D. BEAUPREY's Obituary
JOSEPH D. BEAUPREY, 84, of Sidnaw, MI. passed away Thursday, February 24, 2005 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was born in Ontonagon, MI. on October 31, 1920 son of the late George and May (Rehaume) Beauprey. Joe attended Kenton High School. He married the former Evelyn Provost in Negaunee, MI. in 1945. Joseph was a member of the Teamsters Union, and worked for various commercial contractors in the area. Most recently he was employed as a truck driver with Lindberg Construction Company, until his retirement in 1985. He had served on the Duncan Township Board. Joe’s great love was playing with his grandchildren, and tending to his garden. He enjoyed helping his neighbors and was a handy repairman.
Mr. Beauprey is survived by his loving wife, Evelyn; son, Joseph M. (Carlota) Beauprey of Baraga; grandchildren, Robert (Jeannie) Beauprey, Jerita (Pierre) LaPlante, and Tony (Kristy) Beauprey, step-grandchildren, Paul (Stephanie) DesRochers, Joan DeRochers, Stacey (Dan) Koski, and Matt (Shannon) DesRochers; 9 great-grandchildren, 7 step-great-grandchildren; brother Fred “Fritz (Lorraine) Beauprey of Sidnaw, and sister, Isabelle Hardes of L’Anse. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, and 1 sister.
Funeral services for Mr. Beauprey were held at 6 p.m. Friday, February 25, 2005 at the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L’Anse with Father Chacko officiating. Spring interment will take place in the Sidnaw Cemetery. The family received friends on Friday, February 25, 2005 from 4 p.m. until time of the service. Following the service, the family invited friends to join them for fellowship and refreshments in the Harrington Gathering room, located at the funeral home.
