JUNE K. SANTTI's Obituary
JUNE K. SANTTI, 82, of Watton, MI. passed away Saturday, June 6, 2009 at Bayside Village, L'Anse, following a lengthy illness. She was born in Baraga on June 5, 1927 the daughter of the late Ernest and Anna (Sterk) Kunick. June attended school in Baraga. She married Roy Santti in Baraga in 1948. He preceded her in death in 2001. June worked as a nurses aide at Covington Rest Home until her retirement. She was a member of the Womens Auxiliary Covington VFW Post #8945.
Mrs Santti is survived by her loving children, Donald (Margo) Santti of Watton, Daniel (Viki) Santti of Greenwood, WI., Duane Santti of Bruce Crossing and Shirley Bennett of Watton, grandchildren, Sheri, Erick, Vikki, Marlena, John, Julie, Britan, Tracy, Jerry, Becky, 11 grandchildren, brother, Ernest (Kathy) Kunick of Baraga, sisters, Virginia LaFernier of Baraga, Marcella Vadnais of Keweenaw Bay, Francis Chartier of Baraga, and Ann (Wayne) Swartz of Baraga, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. June is also survived by a special friend, Barbara Duncan and her son Eddie. She was preceded in death by 4 sisters, 1 brother, grandson Joey Maki, niece Debbie, and nephew Tom.
Funeral services for Mrs. Santti were held at 11 a.m, Friday, June 12, 2009 at the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L'Anse with Pastor Mark Reinsch officiating. Interment took place in the Covington Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral chapel on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. A Covington VFW Post #8945 Womens Auxiliary service was held at 10:30 a.m.
