KENDALL S. KOVALA's Obituary
KENDALL SCOTT KOVALA, age 51, of Oak Creek, WI. died suddenly, Tuesday, August 10, 2004 at his home in Oak Creek, WI. He was born in Detroit, MI. on March 15, 1953 son of Elmer and Roberta (Stonehouse) Kovala. Kendall graduated from L’Anse High School in 1971. He then attended Michigan Tech University. Kendall served in the US Air Force with a rank of Sergeant. He was employed as an Electronic Technician for the Delphi/Delco Corp. in Milwaukee. He was a test technician and trouble-shooter for electronic systems in automobiles. Kendall enjoyed working with anything electronic. He was especially fond of astronomy and had recently obtained a telescope to further his interest in the stars. Ken will be remembered for his generosity, his kindness and his love of family. He will be missed by family and friends alike
Mr. Kovala is survived by his loving children; Chris (Jessica) Kovala of Marquette, MI., Keith Kovala of Manhattan, KS. his mother; Roberta Kovala of Baraga, brother; Gary Kovala of Milwaukee, sisters; Nancy (Mike) Cutler of Kalamazoo, MI., Karen Goulet of Escanaba, Laura (Rod) Tarvainen of Houghton, and Jane (Tim) Kinnunen of Watton, MI. Aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer.
A Memorial Service for Mr. Kovala was held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 19, 2004 from the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L’Anse with Judy Mattson officiating. Interment took place in the Covington Cemetery. The family received friends on Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until time of the service. Military honors were conducted by Baraga County Area Veterans at 6:30 p.m. under the direction of the Baraga American Legion Post 444. Following the services, the family invited friends to join them for fellowship and refreshments in the Harrington Gathering room, located at the funeral home.
