KENNETH H. FRIISVALL's Obituary
KENNETH H. FRIISVALL, 73, of Zeba, passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2004 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital, L’Anse, where he had been a patient for a week. He was born in Pelkie, MI. on October 26, 1930 son of the late William and Elma (Sillanpaa) Friisvall. Ken attended Dolle School in Tapiola, MI. and remained a lifetime area resident. He married the former Violet Marksman on November 1, 1952 in Hancock, MI. Ken worked as a skidder operator and sawyer in the logging industry until his retirement in 1992. He was a member of Zeba Methodist Church and the Michigan Logging Congress. Ken enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved animals and being with his dogs.
Mr. Friisvall is survived by his loving wife, Violet, 3 sons, Gerald (Angela) Friisvall of Havelock, N.C., Dale (Rose) Friisvall and Arlan Friisvall both of Zeba, daughters, Virginia Anderson of Zeba, Verna Comfort of Janesville, WI., Violet M. (Jason) Friisvall Ayres of Zeba, grandchildren, Lee, Venus, Ryan, Rebecca, Timothy, Yvette, Matthew, Sheena, Sondra, Dylan, Tiia, Sierra, and T. Austin, great-grandchildren, R.J., Victoria, Vanessa, Blake, Kiara, Richard, and Bryce. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by two sons, Theodore (Manny) and Daryl, and 1 grandson, Nathan.
Funeral services for Mr. Friisvall were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 1, 2004 at the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel. L’Anse with Pastor Jim Mathews officiating. Interment took place in the Pinery Cemetery, L’Anse. The family received friends on Friday, April 30, 2004 from 6 until 9 p.m. at the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L’Anse and 1 hour prior to the service on Saturday. Following the service, the family invited friends to join them for fellowship and luncheon in the Harrington Gathering Room, located at the funeral chapel.
