Kyle J Syrjala's Obituary
Kyle J. Syrjala, age 19, passed away suddenly on Monday, August 28, 2017. He was born in Ishpeming on March 19, 1998, the son of Jeff Syrjala and Nikki Hupp. Kyle graduated from L’Anse High School in 2017. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Covington. Kyle enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to turkey camp, 4 wheeling and just being in the outdoors. He loved riding around in his truck and could fix anything he put his mind to.
Kyle is survived by his loving parents Nikki (Joseph) O’Leary and Jeffrey (Heidi) Syrjala, sisters Kelsey Syrjala (Tim Olson) and Maev O’Leary, step-sisters Abby Mayo and Lark Arrowood, step brothers Bill Mayo, Torin O’Leary and Logan O’Leary, grandmothers Janet Salli and Mary Syrjala, great grandmother Judy Kuntz, nephews Blake and Carter and Hunter and Trevor Kanniainen who were like brothers to him. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfather’s Mike Syrjala, James Salli and Richard Hill and great grandmother Ellen Hinklin.
Funeral services for Kyle were held at 3 p.m. Friday September 1, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Covington with Pastor Mark Reinsch officiating. The family greeted friends at the church on Friday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service.
Interment took place in the Covington Cemetery immediately following the funeral service and a luncheon was held in the church hall.
