LAVONNE M. "BONNIE" DIETSCHE's Obituary
LAVONNE M. “BONNIE” DIETSCHE, age 83, of Baraga passed away Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at Bayside Village, L’Anse where she had been a resident for one month. She was born in Peoria, Illinois on June 5, 1927 the daughter of the late Adolf and Ruth (Hodson) Dietsche. In 1945 Bonnie graduated from the Academy of Our Lady in Peoria, IL.. She received her B.S. Degree in Nursing from St. Mary’s College and her Master’s Degree in Nursing Education from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. Bonnie served as a nun in the St. Francis Order for several years. She accepted a position as the Director of Nursing at the Munising Hospital, retiring in 1991. Bonnie lived for a while in Marquette, moving to Baraga where she currently resided. She was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Baraga
Bonnie is survived by her nephew Ted (Kathy) Hokenson of L’Anse and friends Bob and Maureen Wahmhoff of Baraga. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers.
A Memorial Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, October 29, 2010 at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Baraga with Father Brian Gerber, celebrant. A visitation was held at the church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Interment took place in Forest Hill Cemetery, Houghton.
