LELAND R. "LEE" KOKKO's Obituary
LELAND R. “LEE” KOKKO, 34, of Baraga passed away suddenly Sunday, December 12, 2010 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital. He was born in Ishpeming on March 31, 1976 the son of James and Norma (Tahtinen) Kokko. Lee attended Baraga area schools. He joined the US Navy and served aboard the assault ship, USS Fort McHenry. Lee was assigned as a damage control officer and served in Japan. He married the former Jaimie Roberts in L’Anse in July, 2007. Lee was a carpenter and a good electrician. His artistic talent was displayed doing graphic design paintings on automobiles and recreational vehicles .
Lee is survived by his loving family, wife Jaimie, daughter Aisha Kokko of Baraga, parents James and Norma Kokko of Baraga, and sister Jimi Kokko of Baraga. He was preceded in death by his brother Luke.
A memorial service for Lee was held at 11 am Saturday, December 18, 2010 at the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L’Anse. The family greeted friends at the funeral chapel on Saturday from 10 am until the time of the service.
