Lorraine J Bixley's Obituary
Lorraine J. Bixley, age 72, of Pelkie passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at UP Health System, Marquette. She was born in Hancock, MI on March 16, 1943 the daughter of the late Charles and Saimi (Kovala) Wanhala. Lorraine graduated from John Doelle High School in 1961. Lorraine married Brian Bixley on April 29, 2006 at their home. She was a member of Mission United Lutheran Church, Pelkie. Lorraine enjoyed walking, bike riding, kayaking and especially working on puzzles.
Lorraine is survived by her loving husband Brian, Brian's daughter Jennifer Bixley, Lorraine's grandchildren; Rachel (Paul) Durham, Heather (Brad) Kercheval, Leah (Aaron) Powers, Nathan Harvey, Jared Harvey, Raj Katti and Alyna Katti, great grandchild Dylan Durham, her brother David (Cathy) Wanhala of Hancock, her uncle Charles Kovala of Tapiola and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her two daughters. Michele and Diana and her siblings Charles, William, Donald, Shirley and Edwin.
A memorial funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Mission United Lutheran Church, Pelkie with Pastor John Autio officiating. The family greeted friends at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment took place in the Elo Cemetery.
