MARGUERITE E. "MARCY' MAYO's Obituary
MARGUERITE E. “MARCY” MAYO, 91, of Baraga, MI. passed away Saturday, September 11, 2010 at Marquette General Hospital following a lengthy illness. She was born in Marquette, MI. on August 5, 1919 the daughter of the late Antoine and Mae C. (Osterman) Bohmier. Marcy was a graduate of Baraga High School. She married her true love, William “Bill” Mayo on October 29, 1938 in Assinins, MI. He preceded her in death on September 7, 2003. Marcy was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Baraga. She enjoyed nature, and the fall season, loved reading, and yellow roses. The one thing Marcy wanted to be remembered for was that she loved all her children and their families and that whenever anybody needed anything from “Ma”, she was always there.
Mrs. Mayo is survived by her loving children, James (Rose Marie “Suzie”) Mayo, and Gary (Jeannine) Mayo both of Baraga, Marcia (Curt) Lindstrom of Munising, Karen Keck, Mary Ellen Patovisti, and Alice Maki all of Neenah, WI., 26 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, a great-great grandson, and brother, William (Joyce) Bohmier of New London, PA. Numerous nieces, nephews and other family members also survive. She was preceded in death by 1 grandchild, 1 great grandchild, 1 niece, 1 nephew, 1 grand niece, and 1 grand nephew.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at 11 a.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Baraga with Father John Longbucco, celebrant, and Father George Maki, con-celebrant. Interment took place in the Baraga Cemetery. Her grandsons honored her as casket bearers. A visitation for Mrs. Mayo was held Tuesday evening, September 14, 2010 at the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel from 6 until 8 p.m. and for 1 hour prior to the Mass on Wednesday at the church. A vigil service was held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at the funeral chapel with Deacon Bob Wahmhoff officiating The service will include some of Marcy's special musical selections by Michael Huff and long time family friend, Cathy Bolton.
